Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating various types of forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers, to manage inventory and facilitate warehouse distribution. This role requires mechanical knowledge, attention to safety, and the ability to perform heavy lifting and order picking tasks. The Forklift Operator plays a vital role in maintaining smooth warehouse operations and ensuring timely order fulfillment.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers, to move materials throughout the warehouse
- Load and unload goods safely, adhering to all safety protocols
- Pick, pack, and organize inventory using warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Perform basic maintenance checks on equipment and report any issues
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as needed
- Ensure proper stacking and storage of materials to prevent damage or safety hazards
- Use basic math skills for measuring, counting, and verifying quantities during order picking
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution operations with forklift certification preferred
- Proficiency in operating clamp trucks, order pickers, and other warehouse equipment
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory control
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to forklift operation and heavy lifting
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently (up to 50 pounds or more)
- Basic math skills for accurate order picking and inventory management
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards
Qualified candidates must possess:
- Valid Class 1 forklift certificate required
- Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Exceptional organizational skills, able to prioritize, detail oriented
- Proficient communication skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Great attendance and professionalism
Pay: $17.92-$24.45 per hour
