Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Camp Breakfast Cook / BAKER to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service and a strong commitment to food safety and quality. As a Breakfast Cook, you will play a vital role in meal preparation buffet style and ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly. Currently we are looking to fill the Breakfast cook / baker position. There is room to grow into other positions within the kitchen. Your creativity and attention to detail will contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences for our guests. We also have a deli style restaurant that requires help from time to time.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and standards. (Its breakfast)
- Ensure all food handling and preparation practices comply with health and safety regulations and food safe policies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items.
- Assist in menu planning and development, offering suggestions for seasonal dishes.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and high-quality food presentation.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting any shortages to management.
- Help train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
- Participate in regular kitchen meetings to discuss menu changes, special events, or feedback.
- Create MTO sandwiches for clients.
- Prep lunch options for clients
Requirements
- Previous experience in Camp food service.
- Restaurant experience will be helpful
- Strong knowledge of Breakfast cook / baker techniques and tasks.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Knowledge of MTO sandwich and camp style bagged lunch requirements are a must. Baking fresh goods are a requirement.
- Familiarity with various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures used in camp settings.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being capable of working independently when needed.
- A passion for cooking and helping others enjoy delicious meals.
- Valid Drivers License (with proof of abstract)
- Locals will be given first priority.
Rotations are currently 2 weeks on and 1 week off. (staying in for a double is an option) Crew change is on Sundays/Mondays.
We will only look at applicants with a valid Drivers license, having a vehicle is preferred. License will be used to get supplies with company vehicle and also to assist picking up other staff.
We currently are running a 25 man executive camp in a hotel setting with year round work.
