Dr. Roy Wilson Learning Center (DRWLC) is looking to fill a 0.5 FTE position for August 27, 2026 to June 29, 2027. DRWLC is located in the southeast area of the city and serves 700 students from ELP to grade 9. It is a dynamic and innovative school with a commitment to creating engaging learning experiences for students.
The teaching assignment for this position includes Grade 8 Social Studies, Physical Education 8, Rec. Ed. 9, Soccer Academy 9, Digital Arts 8, Business 8, CEFL 9 (Career Exploration and Financial Literacy) and our Gr. 8 Sports and Skills Academy.
The successful candidate will be required to support the school's mission, vision and values to
create authentic connections and provide meaningful learning for students. A commitment to the school's core values of Respect, Community, Responsibility and Engagement are essential. Our school will also be piloting new junior high curriculum in the areas of Social Studies, PEW and CEFL. The ability to work collaboratively as a junior high team to plan engaging experiences for students will be important.
DRWLC staff are collaborative, caring, and committed to working with students to support their academic and personal development. The individual selected to fill this position will be an active participant in the learning community and add positively to the overall culture of the school. A commitment to coaching athletics and supporting activities outside of the classroom will be considered an asset.
