Overview
We are seeking a part-time dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice, with the opportunity to become full-time in the near future. The ideal candidate will support the dental team by providing exceptional patient care, assisting with procedures, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Experience with dental software Tracker, as well as familiarity with pediatrics, will be highly valued. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on delivering high-quality dental services working alongside with a small team of fun and driven people.
Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient procedures, ensuring cleanliness and sterilization of instruments
- Assist dentists during various dental procedures, including all aspects of general dentistry
- Take and develop dental radiographs
- Manage patient records accurately using our Tracker software systems
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
- Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient inquiries, similar to a dental receptionist role when needed
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards
- Support the team in maintaining a welcoming and comfortable environment for patients
Skills
- Proficiency in dental assisting techniques and knowledge of medical terminology
- Familiarity with orthodontics, pediatrics, and CAD imaging technologies is advantageous
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of infection control procedures and sterilization standards
- Previous experience or training in dental receptionist duties is a plus
