Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical practice by providing exceptional front desk support, managing patient records, and assisting with administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience with electronic medical records, medical terminology, and office management systems, particularly in a healthcare setting such as dental or medical offices. Strong communication skills and proficiency with multi-line phone systems are essential for success in this role. Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression of the practice
- Manage appointment scheduling, confirmations, and rescheduling using electronic medical records systems such as Accuro
- Handle multi-line phone systems efficiently to answer inquiries and direct calls appropriately
- Verify patient insurance information and update records accurately in the system
- Assist with check-in and check-out procedures, including collecting necessary documentation and payments
- Maintain organized patient files and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information
- Support Doctors with administrative tasks as needed, including preparing paperwork and documentation
- Ensure the reception area remains clean, professional, and welcoming at all times
- Assist with billing processes and follow-up on unpaid accounts when necessary
- Stay current on healthcare regulations and practice policies to ensure compliance
Experience
- Prior experience working as a Dental Receptionist or Medical Office Assistant is highly preferred
- Proficiency with electronic medical records systems such as Accuro is required
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to healthcare settings is essential
- Demonstrated experience managing front desk operations in a busy office environment
- Strong administrative skills including handling multi-line phone systems, appointment scheduling, and data entry
- Previous office experience in healthcare settings will be considered an asset
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with a professional demeanor

Pay: $16.00-$18.00 per hour
