We are hiring: Registered Level II dental assistant for Monday - Thursday. Ideally the candidate would have two or more years experience
Periodontal Specialty Office: London, ON
Compensation: $27 to 33/hr (based on experience).
The position would be for Monday to Thursday. Rate of pay would be expected to be between $27 and 33/hr.
Key Responsibilities
- Instrument Reprocessing: Decontaminate, clean, and sterilize dental instruments and handpieces using autoclaves and ultrasonic cleaners.
- Sterilization Monitoring: Conduct and record daily biological (spore) tests and chemical indicator tests to verify sterilizer efficacy.
- Operatory Turnaround: Clean and disinfect clinical treatment rooms between patients according to ODA guidelines.
- Documentation: Maintain meticulous patient records, sterilization logs, including cycle times, temperatures, and pressure readings.
- Inventory & Maintenance: Monitor clinical supplies, replenish stocks, and perform routine maintenance on sterilization equipment.
- Infection Control: Act as a resource for the team regarding IPAC protocols and assist in maintaining the office’s Infection Control Manual.
- Clinical Support: Assist with radiographs (X-rays) and basic chairside duties as needed to support the flow of the practice
Qualifications
- Certification: Valid Certified Level II Dental Assistant (CDA) license in Ontario
- Experience: Previous experience in a clinical dental setting with a focus on sterilization is preferred.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of IPAC (Infection Prevention and Control) standards and WHMIS/OSHA guidelines.
- Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and strong organizational skills.
- Safety: Current CPR/First Aid certification and up-to-date immunizations.
