GeoSpectrum is growing and has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Product System Administrator to help shape system spec, manage and maintain the technology that drives our products and internal testing infrastructure!
Our solutions use an Ubuntu multi-server local network. We are looking for a Linux system administrator to manage those servers across their lifecycle, make sure they interface properly with everything around them and keep them running smoothly in our integration labs. This role also owns the hardware, networking, and overall environment for our integration lab to support our development and QA teams. We’re all about consistent, reproducible results and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
- Full Cycle Product Hardware Management: Own the end-to-end lifecycle of product hardware within server racks and software integration labs, from requirements gathering and technical specification through deployment, ongoing support and refresh planning.
- Network administration:The systems we sell include network switches; so does the software development infrastructure. The configuration and maintenance of both is yours.
- Collaborate & enable:Act as a bridge between Software Engineering and IT Operations – on one side, work closely with developers, QA, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and feedback; on the other, work closely with IT Ops to ensure a consistent GTI hardware and networking implementation.
Qualifications
- Education & experience:5+ years administrating Linux in a software development or corporate environment. Professional certifications a plus.
- Ubuntu administration proficiency:. Significant experience as an Ubuntu admin.
- Scripting & automation skills:Proficiency in scripting or lightweight programming (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.) to create and maintain OS management scripts, automation tools, and integrations.
- Focus on quality & reliability:Detail-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement, ensuring processes are reliable, repeatable, and secure. Experience with testing, monitoring, and validation practices is particularly valuable.
- Virtual Environments: Some experience with VM environments is a plus, especially familiarity with SUSE Rancher or Harvester.
- Agile & Modern Development: Experience in an agile development environment and familiarity with modern software development practices would be an advantage.
Security Requirements
