The Opportunity:
We are currently hiring a full-time, permanent Insulation Installer. The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation and installation of insulation materials in residential and commercial construction projects, ensuring insulation products are installed safely and efficiently, while maintaining a high level of workmanship and customer service.
Duties Include:
- Prepare walls and other areas for insulation and install materials such as BIBS and batt & poly insulation.
- Apply and secure insulation using appropriate installation methods including blowing, taping, etc.
- Measure and cut insulating materials to required specifications using hand and power tools.
- Read and interpret order forms to determine materials and equipment required for each project.
- Prepare and handle materials for projects, including lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse, work areas, vehicles, tools, and equipment.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service when working on jobsites or interacting with customers or contractors.
What We're Looking For:
- Minimum 1 year of insulation installation experience preferred; previous general labour or construction experience considered an asset.
- Valid Ontario G driver’s license with a clean driving record and 2 years experience driving medium duty vehicles is required.
- Proficiency with building tools, materials, and basic construction practices.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Reliable, hardworking, and motivated to learn and develop new skills.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts and overtime as required by seasonal demands and workload.
- Please note: Reliable transportation is essential as Chemong Home Hardware Building Centre is not on a bus route.
