Job Summary
Martushev is seeking an experienced Finish Excavator Operator for a new project in Conklin , AB. The successful candidate will be responsible for precision excavation, fine grading, trimming, ditching, shaping, sloping, and final grade preparation to meet project specifications.
This is a camp position.

Drug and alcohol testing
CSO, Ground Disturbance level 2, First Aid, FR Coveralls.
Responsibilities
- Operate excavator safely and efficiently for finish grading, trimming, shaping, ditching, and excavation work.
- Work to grade using stakes, survey markers, GPS, laser, or direction from supervision.
- Excavate, backfill, shape, slope, and trim material to required elevations and tolerances.
- Complete drainage shaping, berm construction, slope trimming, access road preparation, working pads, and landfill cell support work.
- Work safely around dozers, loaders, graders, compactors, haul trucks, labourers, and survey crews.
- Use precise bucket control to prevent over-excavation, rework, contamination, or damage to existing infrastructure.
- Complete daily equipment inspections and report defects or maintenance concerns.
- Follow all company safety policies, environmental requirements, and site-specific procedures.
- Communicate clearly with foremen, operators, drivers, labourers, and spotters.
Required Experience and Skills
- Minimum 3–5 years of excavator operating experience, with finish excavator experience preferred.
- Proficient in fine grading, slope work, ditching, drainage, material shaping, and working to grade.
- Experience on landfill, earthworks, civil construction, underground, roadbuilding, or site development projects is an asset.
- GPS or machine control experience is an asset.
- Valid driver’s licence required.
- Safety tickets such as CSTS, Ground Disturbance, or First Aid are considered assets.
