About VanEcoRide
VanEcoRide is Vancouver's premium e-mobility specialist, based in the heart of Yaletown. For four years, we have focused exclusively on electric scooters and electric bikes — rentals, sales, and expert service. We are an official Himiway dealer and work with industry-leading brands including NIU, Aostirmotor, and others.
The e-scooter and e-bike market in Vancouver is exploding, but technical service has not kept up. Most shops are still focused on traditional bicycles. We are different — and we are now building Vancouver's most trusted E-Mobility Service Center.
The Opportunity
We are hiring an E-Mobility Service Technician with a passion for electric scooters, electric bikes, and the technology that powers them. This is not a general bike shop role. If you enjoy diagnosing motor controllers, troubleshooting battery management systems, and replacing controllers more than truing wheels — this role is for you.
You will be part of a growing specialized team in a market with very few real competitors. We are positioning VanEcoRide as the go-to repair destination for every NIU, Segway, Hiboy, Aostirmotor, Himiway, and similar e-mobility owner in Metro Vancouver.
Compensation — Where the Real Opportunity Is
We are an honest, growing small business. We have built this opportunity around one principle: the harder you work and the better you perform, the more you earn. No artificial caps. No glass ceiling. Real upside for real performance.
Base wage: $20 to $25 per hour,
depending on experience and credentials. Paid bi-weekly via direct deposit, with proper T4 documentation.
The commission program is the real story. On top of your base wage, you earn a percentage of every labour service you complete (parts excluded — the parts side belongs to its own department):
- Tier 1 — Onboarding (first 3 months): 5% on labour you complete
- Tier 2 — Standard (after probation): 10% on labour you complete
- Tier 3 — Performance: 15% once you consistently hit monthly labour targets with a re-work rate under 5%
- Tier 4 — Senior: Up to 20% for top performers with certifications and one year of consistent quality work
This structure means a skilled, hard-working technician can realistically reach $60K to $75K+ in total annual earnings — purely through wage + commission, no benefits package required. The cap is your own performance, not company policy.

Why This Is Different
The Vancouver bike repair market is saturated — every neighbourhood has a bike shop. The e-mobility repair market is wide open. Every e-scooter and e-bike owner in this city needs reliable service, and there are very few specialists who can deliver it well.
We are positioning VanEcoRide to be the answer, and you can be part of building that from the ground up. We are honest about where we are: we are a focused small business, not a corporate chain.
We don't have a benefits package yet. What we do have is a clear commission structure where your effort directly grows your income, a growing market with real demand, and a real path to Senior Technician and Service Department Manager as we expand. When our team wins, the company wins bigger.
