Our projects are on commercial buildings – flat roofs and sheet metal roofs, in Edmonton, Calgary, and smaller cities and towns across Alberta & BC. There is some travel (25%) required with this position.
We are hiring a motivated Solar Foreman who wants to learn and grow in the clean energy industry. This is a full-time position based out of Edmonton and surrounding sites and will report to our Field Supervisor.

Responsibilities
- Installation & commissioning of solar systems on flat roofs, pitched roofs, and ground mount systems
- Foreman duties including coordination of equipment, material purchasing, site and personnel management, task delegation, etc.
- Installation & commissioning of EV chargers, underground conduit, etc
- Installation of associated electrical equipment including cable tray, conduit, wiring, inverters, battery banks, breakers, panelboards, splitters, disconnects, etc.
- Commission solar monitoring systems and inverters
- Troubleshoot inverter error codes and warnings
- Electrical construction work between solar projects such as lighting retrofits
- Supervise and mentor apprentices
- Be a friendly, knowledgeable representative of the company to clients on site
- Interpret single line diagrams and electrical layout drawings
- Work at heights & in inclement weather (wind, rain, sun, cold, heat)
- Perform job site safety assessments. Adhere to safety policies.
- Construction: In between QA/QC, material ordering, and scheduling, assist construction crews with installation work.
- Commissioning. Perform ongoing commissioning to ensure seamless operation and final evaluations to confirm that all systems are fully operational.
- Interpret Blueprints and Schematics: Read and interpret electrical drawings to guide installations and ensure alignment with project specs and timelines.
Secondary Accountabilities:
- Ensure work is completed safely. Ensure you and direct reports are adhering to safety policies (internal and external).
- Ensure work is completed with utmost quality. Ensure direct reports are adhering to quality control process. Ensure the finished product is completed professionally and safely.
- Coordinate material ordering, equipment rentals, travel, & accommodations as required
- Coordinate rough-in and final inspections based on progress with your direct lead.
- Maintain Equipment: If a tool, lift, vehicle or other equipment is broken, unsafe, or needs attention, bring it to your supervisor’s attention and plan to get it repaired.
- Market and sell services as an electrical foreman for other commercial electrical opportunities.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues using expertise and electrical testing equipment.

Requirements:
- Journeyman or Red Seal certification
- Strong background & technical expertise in commercial & light industrial
- 1+ years as a Journeyman/Journeywoman
- 1+ years in the field as Foreman/Forewoman
- 1+ years of commercial solar experience
- 1+ years of commercial electrical experience
- Class 5 driver’s license with clean record
- Current valid safety tickets: CSTS, First Aid, AWP, Fall Arrest
- Highly capable with all types of software including Bluebeam Revu, SiteDocs, OneDrive/SharePoint, and Microsoft Word & Excel
- Thorough understanding of ethernet & wireless networks
Assets:
- Solar training (SAIT, NAIT, Solar Alberta, CanSIA, NABCEP, SEI, etc)
- Troubleshooting / maintenance experience
- Forklift, skid steer, or telehandler operator training & experience is an asset
- Willing to travel for work, as needed
- Electrical Safety Training System ESTS/ Arc Flash training
- Proficient with technology & Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Word, SharePoint, etc

Pay: $40.00-$45.00 per hour
