Rail Shop Services Inc. is seeking a reliable and organized Warehouse Attendant / Shipper Receiver to support our engineering, trades, procurement, and logistics teams. This position is responsible for receiving, organizing, storing, and moving materials and equipment throughout the warehouse and shop to ensure project requirements are met efficiently and safely.
The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while supporting a fast-paced industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive incoming materials, equipment, and deliveries while verifying quantities, condition, and documentation against purchase orders, packing slips, and delivery notes
- Record received, issued, and relocated materials using company tracking systems and inventory records
- Organize and maintain warehouse inventory, including shelving, racking, pallets, and designated storage areas
- Move materials, equipment, pallets, and components throughout the warehouse and shop as required
- Assist with loading and unloading deliveries safely and efficiently
- Stage materials for projects, shop activities, and internal requirements
- Maintain accurate labeling and identification of stored materials to support efficient retrieval
- Prepare materials, skids, pallets, and freight for outbound shipments
- Assist with packaging, securing, labeling, and staging shipments for pickup
- Support return material processes by preparing items for shipment following vendor RMA instructions
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment, including keeping aisles and work areas clear
- Assist procurement and logistics teams with warehouse and shipping-related activities
- Participate in company safety program, including training, documentation, and safe work practices.
- Perform diverse support duties as required
Qualifications
- Previous experience in warehouse, stores, shipping/receiving, or industrial environments is an asset
- Experience handling materials, inventory, or equipment preferred
- Basic understanding of receiving, freight handling, and inventory control procedures
- Comfortable using computers and Microsoft Office applications for documentation and tracking
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to safely lift, move, and handle materials
- Forklift experience or certification is considered an asset
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with multiple departments
- Able to lift up to 75 lbs and engage in manual labour throughout the duration of the shift.
