The Role
We are hiring a Shop Mechanic to join our Breton shop, performing repairs, overhauls, and maintenance on natural gas engines and compression equipment, including Waukesha and Caterpillar engines and Ariel and Arrow compressors. This is a shop-based position with predictable hours, working alongside a small, experienced team. We are looking for a Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic or Millwright. 5 years of experience in oilfield, agricultural, or heavy duty mechanical work is preferred.
Duties & Responsibilities
● Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul of natural gas engines and reciprocating, screw, or rotary vane compressors, including Waukesha and Caterpillar engines and Ariel and Arrow compressors
● Diagnose mechanical issues and recommend proper solutions
● Complete required documentation, service reports, and timekeeping accurately and on time
● Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
● Communicate with coordinators and shop lead on job status and parts requirements
● Support job-level cost recovery by ensuring accurate time and materials tracking
Requirements & Certifications
● High school diploma or equivalent
● Journeyman ticket, Heavy Duty Mechanic or Millwright
● 5 years of hands-on experience in oilfield, agricultural, or heavy duty mechanical work preferred
● Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
● Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
● Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
● Class 5 driver's license with a clean abstract
● H2S Alive, CSO, CSTS, TDG, WHMIS (or willingness to obtain)
