The Job!
The Logistics Coordinator is primarily responsible for coordinating daily transportation and logistics activities while ensuring accurate administrative support for shipping and inventory operations. This role focuses on scheduling shipments, maintaining records, communicating with carriers and customers, and preparing shipping documentation. During peak periods or as operational needs require, the position also provides hands-on support within the warehouse, including order picking, packing, and shipping. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Coordinate daily shipments by scheduling pickups and deliveries with carriers through email and phone.
- Monitor shipment status and provide timely updates to customers and internal teams.
- Communicate effectively with carriers, drivers, customers, and warehouse personnel to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Prepare shipping documentation, dangerous goods (DG) paperwork, and other transportation-related documents.
- Resolve transportation, delivery, and shipping issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate logistics, inventory, and shipping records within Business Central and other company systems.
- Support inventory accuracy through data entry, stock reconciliation, and reporting.
- Assist the warehouse team during busy periods by picking, packing, labeling, and preparing customer orders for shipment.
- Verify product quantities and quality before shipment.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock movement as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all company safety procedures.
- Perform other administrative or warehouse-related duties as assigned.
What you bring to the job
You are someone with strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills. You care about the details and pay attention to ensure accuracy in your work. You also come with:
- Previous experience in logistics, transportation, shipping, or a related administrative role.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Experience using ERP, WMS, TMS, or Business Central systems is preferred.
- Knowledge of shipping documentation; Dangerous Goods (DG) experience is considered an asset.
- Ability to prioritize work and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience using RF scanners is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs when assisting warehouse operations.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods when supporting warehouse activities.
