Job Description:
We are looking for a dedicated and eager Heavy Duty Mechanics apprentice to join our team. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and receive mentorship from experienced professionals. As an apprentice, you will learn the ins and outs of heavy-duty vehicle maintenance and repair, preparing you for a successful career in the industry.
Responsibilities:
- Assist experienced mechanics in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty vehicles such as concrete mixer trucks, concrete boom pumps, and tractor trailers.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks.
- Learn to use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify mechanical issues.
- Participate in troubleshooting and repairing engine, transmission, brake, and hydraulic systems.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored.
- Follow all safety protocols and company procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Attend training sessions to advance your knowledge and skills.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of automotive mechanics or a related field.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and a passion for learning.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and take direction from experienced mechanics.
- Good communication skills and attention to detail.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and perform manual labor.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
