Intermediate Accountant (Hybrid)
Location: Mississauga, ON
Work Model: Hybrid – 3 days in office, 2 days work from home
Salary: $75,000 – $90,000
Schedule: Flexible start between 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM
About the Opportunity
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Intermediate Accountant to join a growing organization within the manufacturing sector. The Accountant role operates in the general accounting team, working closely with the General Accounting Manager as well as with business units.

Education / Experience:
College Diploma or University Degree in Business Administration, Commerce or a related discipline required. Strong preference for an accounting designation in progress.
2 to 3 years of previous general accounting experience. Previous experience with financial analysis required.
Strong Excel skills and experience with Microsoft Office applications.
Previous experience with Microsoft Dynamix preferred.
What You Will Do:
Responsible for journal entry preparation and month end close activities.
Prepare and maintain account and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring assigned assets and liabilities are fairly stated.
Perform bank reconciliations of the CAD and USD bank accounts
Maintain the fixed asset subledger
In coordination with the General Accounting Manager, prepare variance analysis for assigned cost centres (actual vs. budget and actual vs. forecast) and investigate and resolve discrepancies with department managers.
Provide support with preparation of financial statement working papers, analysis and commentary.
Coordinate assigned aspects of financial reporting, developing a sound understanding overall business operations, underlying areas of GAAP and budget assumptions, ensuring results are fairly stated and can be clearly explained.
Effectively liaise and provide day to day accounting support to assigned business units. In coordination with General Accounting Manager, deliver financial reporting and analysis for assigned business units.
