Junior Interior Designer Overview
Juliette Interiors is seeking a creative, organized, and detail-oriented Junior Interior Designer to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about residential design and eager to develop their skills while working on custom homes, renovations, additions, and thoughtfully curated interiors.
As a Junior Interior Designer, you will work closely with our Lead Designer throughout every stage of the design process—from initial concepts and client presentations to product sourcing, site visits, and final installations. This role is ideal for someone who is highly motivated, has a strong design eye, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing design concepts for residential renovations, additions, and custom homes.
- Create mood boards, finish palettes, furniture layouts, and presentation packages.
- Produce floor plans, elevations, and 3D renderings using Chief Architect.
- Prepare detailed selections packages, specifications, and product schedules.
- Source furniture, lighting, plumbing fixtures, tile, flooring, cabinetry, and decorative finishes.
- Coordinate pricing, procurement, and ordering with suppliers and vendors.
- Attend client meetings, site visits, showroom appointments, and project installations.
- Assist with styling completed projects for professional photography.
- Maintain organized project files, samples, and design documentation.
- Support project coordination by communicating with vendors, trades, and clients as required.
- Assist with social media content creation, project documentation, and portfolio updates.
- Stay current on interior design trends, products, and materials to bring fresh ideas to each project.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in residential interior design is preferred.
- Proficiency in Chief Architect is considered a strong asset.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, SketchUp, AutoCAD, or similar design software is an asset.
- Strong understanding of residential construction, space planning, millwork, and material specifications.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A keen eye for detail, colour, composition, and styling.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Valid driver's licence and access to reliable transportation for site visits and showroom appointments.
