Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Inventory & Ecommerce Assistant to support our inventory and online product management process. This role works directly under the Inventory Control Manager and helps maintain accurate product information across Lightspeed Retail POS, Shopify/website platforms, and spreadsheets.
The ideal candidate is organized, accurate, comfortable with Excel, and able to handle product data, website listings, SKU/UPC checks, pricing updates, and inventory-related ecommerce tasks. This position is important in keeping online products accurate, properly listed, and aligned with in-store inventory.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with creating, updating, and maintaining product listings on the website or Shopify.
- Update product information such as titles, descriptions, images, variants, categories, and pricing.
- Check and verify SKU, UPC, vendor item number, cost, MSRP, sale price, and product details.
- Help maintain accurate product records in Lightspeed Retail POS.
- Work with Excel or Google Sheets to clean, organize, and update product data.
- Assist with CSV imports, product matrix updates, and inventory data corrections.
- Help match online products with in-store inventory records.
- Review products for missing images, incorrect descriptions, wrong prices, or incomplete information.
- Support online inventory accuracy by checking product availability and variant details.
- Report product data issues, duplicate items, missing UPCs, or pricing problems to the Inventory Control Manager.
- Follow store procedures to keep website and inventory data consistent.
Qualifications
- Previous experience with ecommerce, inventory, retail, data entry, or product listings is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets.
- Experience with Lightspeed Retail POS is an asset.
- Experience with Shopify or other ecommerce platforms is an asset.
- Comfortable working with product codes, SKUs, UPCs, pricing, variants, and inventory data.
- Must be comfortable with data entry and able to type at least 75 words per minute with a high level of accuracy.
- Able to follow instructions and maintain consistent product data standards.
- Good communication skills and willingness to ask questions when product information is unclear.
- Bike shop, sporting goods, or retail product knowledge is an asset but not required.
Preferred Skills
- Basic understanding of ecommerce product listings.
- Experience with CSV files, product imports, and spreadsheet cleanup.
- Ability to spot product data errors before they affect the website or inventory.
- Comfortable editing product titles, descriptions, and images.
- Organized, reliable, and consistent with repetitive detail-based tasks.
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
