The Role
Our client is a reputable leading manufacturer and supplier with multiple locations around the country, in search of a Red Seal Industrial Electrician for the Surrey location for their 24/6 operating facility.
Offering multiple opportunities for growth and a strong pension plan, our client requires the maintenance team to work on straight evening shifts, running from Monday to Friday 9 PM to 7:30 AM, OR straight afternoon shifts running from Monday to Friday 11 AM to 9:30 PM.
The right candidate must hold a Red Seal Industrial Electrician certification. Previous union experience is considered an asset.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect, troubleshoot, service, and improve electrical and automated systems to support reliable production operations while managing resources effectively.
- Provide technical support for a variety of industrial equipment and control systems, including control panels, motors, drives, instrumentation, power distribution systems, network infrastructure, and computerized equipment.
- Promote a strong culture of workplace safety and operational excellence by demonstrating best practices and collaborating with leadership and environmental, health, and safety teams.
- Coordinate, prioritize, and organize maintenance activities related to electrical and automation systems to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
- Ensure compliance with company safety standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements at all times.
- Maintain a well-organized, clean, and hazard-free work area while contributing to a safe working environment for all personnel.
- Coordinate with colleagues and leadership to support productivity and meet performance goals.
- Operate powered equipment and vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.
Requirements:
- Red Seal Industrial Electrician certification required.
- Previous union experience would be an asset.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends.
- Understanding of computing systems to complete any required maintenance reports.
- Strong equipment diagnosis and understanding/interpretation of blueprints and manuals.
- Ability to work well in teams as well as independently.
- A high level of ownership, accountability, and initiative.
- Proven success working in a fast-paced production environment.
- Organizational skills, communication skills, and attention to detail.
- A strong commitment to health and safety standards and protocols.
