DESCRIPTION:
Work in various departments in the wood shop, machining, assembling, and cutting wood doors, frames and adding hardware components.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous woodworking experience in a similar field
- Comfortable with use of cut-off saws, routers, drills, jig saws, staplers, and related tools
- Understand measurement
- Physically fit and capable of handling heavy material (50-100 lbs.)
- Strong communication, reading, and writing in English
- Valid BC Driver’s License and reliable transportation
- Forklift experience an asset
DUTIES:
- Operate machinery and tools to create finished product effectively and safely
- Sand or paint items as needed
- Verify products for quality assurance purposes
- Ensure product meets all regulations
- Keep track of and report damaged or lost items
- Repair defective or damaged materials when possible
- Report to Shop Foreman and Production Manager with production estimates and updates
- Help teammates in other departments
- Experienced staff: train or assist in training new staff
- Ensure production areas are clean and free of hazards
- Perform regular maintenance on equipment
- Signal mechanical errors to Shop Foreman
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
