ABOUT DWI GROUP
DWI Group is an emerging architecture, engineering, construction, and capital platform focused on institutional, commercial, retail, and community-based projects across Canada.
Our vision is to create an integrated project delivery firm that combines architecture, engineering, construction, and development expertise under a single coordinated platform. We are currently building our founding team.
THE OPPORTUNITY
DWI is building an environmental services practice and we need someone who can open doors. Before we can deliver projects, we need to be in the room — and getting into the right rooms in Calgary's O&G sector requires relationships, not résumés.
This role is built around one thing: activating an existing network of oil and gas contacts to bring environmental work through the door. Phase I and II ESAs, contaminated site assessment and remediation, regulatory compliance, spill contingency planning — the work is there. We need the person who can connect DWI to it.
Initially part-time and contract-based, structured around performance and results. For the right person, this role grows into a senior leadership position within the firm.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Identify and develop client relationships with oil and gas operators, midstream companies, and energy developers in Alberta and western Canada
- Generate opportunities for environmental consulting services including Phase I/II ESAs, contaminated site work, regulatory compliance, and spill contingency planning
- Lead client meetings, relationship development, and early project scoping conversations
- Represent DWI at industry events and within the Calgary energy community
- Work directly with DWI's technical team to support proposals and close initial engagements
- Maintain and grow an active client pipeline
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Established network of relationships with oil and gas clients, operators, or energy companies in Calgary and Alberta
- Background in business development, account management, or client relations in the AEC or environmental consulting sector
- Familiarity with O&G environmental services — Phase I/II ESAs, contaminated sites, regulatory compliance, spill response
- Self-directed and comfortable operating in a lean, early-stage environment
- Strong communicator with the ability to open doors and build trust with senior client contacts
- Entrepreneurial mindset — you want to build something, not just fill a role
WHAT MAKES THIS DIFFERENT
This is not a standard BD coordinator position.
You will be working directly with the firm's founder, with real influence over which clients DWI pursues and how the environmental practice is built. For the right candidate, this role has a clear path to senior leadership as the firm grows.
POSITION TYPE
- Part-Time Contract
- Flexible Hours
- Growth Potential to Full-Time Leadership Role
SOFTWARE & TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENTS
As DWI Group is currently in its startup phase, candidates must have legal access to all software required to perform the duties of the role.
This includes, where applicable:
- Microsoft Office 365
- CRM or pipeline management tools (Salesforce or equivalent)
- LinkedIn or equivalent prospecting tools
- Other business development and communication tools required for client-facing activities
Candidates may satisfy this requirement through personal licenses, existing employer-approved licenses where permitted, or software provided through their own consulting practice or company.
Compensation rates are expected to reflect the candidate's provision of their own software, hardware, and professional tools.
As DWI Group grows and transitions into larger project delivery roles, company-provided software and technology resources may be introduced.
COMPENSATION STRUCTURE
This position is initially structured as a flexible part-time contract role focused on business development, client relationship management, and pipeline growth in the O&G environmental sector.
Compensation will be based on a performance incentive tied to awarded project fees originated through this role.
Candidates are expected to operate as independent professionals and maintain their own professional software, hardware, insurance (if applicable), and technical resources.
As DWI Group secures projects and expands its operations, successful candidates may be offered increased hours, long-term leadership opportunities, and potential participation in future growth initiatives.
