Sow Farm Manager position:
Location – Lowe Farm, Manitoba
Full time – 40 hours per week

Morris Piglets North, is currently searching to fill the position of Sow Farm Manager. Morris Piglets North is a 2,600 sow farm and is part of a larger company that owns multiple sow barns in the Pembina Valley. We pride ourselves in being top producers in the industry, and strive to give all staff a great work environment.
The successful candidate will have strong leadership abilities, understand that great results are achieved through team effort, excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure while handling multiple tasks. Weekend and holiday work are required on a rotational basis. Must have valid driver’s licence and a reliable vehicle to get to and from work. A minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial hog production is required.
Duties include:
The sow farm manager is responsible for managing and directing the daily operations of the entire sow farm site and its respective departments. These duties include managing the health and welfare of all animals at the farm, monitoring and maintaining production targets, organizing staff schedules to meet workloads, maintaining a positive work environment for all employees, training new and existing employees, maintaining and enforcing all biosecurity policies, managing the repair and maintenance of farm equipment and working with the Production Manager to find creative solutions to improve productivity and employee experience. The successful candidate will have strong people skills, understand the value of team work and team building.
