Position Summary:
We are looking for a Site Supervisor/Foreman to coordinate a three-person crew completing underground Utility work throughout the Northwest Region of British Columbia, relating to our BC Hydro contract.
The Supervisor will provide overall coordination and leadership on site for our own forces and trade contractors. As the Supervisor you will be accountable for safety, quality, schedule, efficiency and cost control.
Safety:
- Overall responsibility for site safety.
- Understand and follow WorkSafeBC legislation, our own Health and Safety Manual, and the Clients Contractor Safety requirements.
- Ensure all personal on-site have been put through orientation and training
- Ensure workers understand and follow our Safe Work Practices and Procedures
- Lead toolbox and weekly safety meetings
- Report all near misses, spills, and incidents
Responsibilities:
- Overall site leadership and coordination
- Accountable for project quality, schedule, and costs.
- Ensures deadlines are met and identifies potential problems
- Order materials in a timely manner
- Develop and utilize 3-week look-ahead schedule to manage progress, resources, trade commencement and material deliveries.
- Notify the Project Manager in advance of required site inspections by Architect, Consultants and local Building Inspector
- Maintain good relations with all project stakeholders and the public.
- Notify Project Manager when an item may be outside of contract scope
- Assist Project Manager with identifying and submitting RFI’s for field questions and conflicts.
Requirements:
- Journeyman from a recognized Canadian Provincial Training Authority
- Previous experience in a supervisory role relating to shallow underground utilities
- Ability to read drawings and specifications
- Knowledge relating to municipal infrastructure.
- Strong communication skills, computer literate with Microsoft outlook, word and Excel
- Ability to always maintain a professional and helpful attitude
- Valid driver’s license.
- Equipment operation and knowledge considered an asset, Heavy Trailer Endorsement
- First aid considered an asset.
Compensation:
- Wages and remunerations to Union agreement. Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 10 hour days. Some overtime and weekend work is anticipated.
- Live out allowance when required
