Shop Drawing & Project Coordination Assistant – Commercial Millwork
Gazouli Contracting Ltd. is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shop Drawing & Project Coordination Assistant to join our team on a full-time, in-person basis.
This role is an important part of our commercial millwork operation and involves preparing, reviewing, and managing shop drawings, coordinating project documentation, assisting with estimates, ordering materials, and supporting communication between clients, contractors, suppliers, the office, and the shop.
The ideal candidate will have strong drafting skills, experience with CAD or cabinet drawing software, and a solid understanding of construction processes. Previous experience in commercial millwork, cabinetry, construction, or a related industry is strongly sought after.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed shop drawings and schematics for commercial millwork projects
- Use AutoCAD, SketchUp, Mozaik, Cabinet Vision, Autodesk 360, or similar software
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, and project details
- Review and verify shop drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements
- Assist with light project coordination between clients, contractors, suppliers, design teams, and the shop
- Manage project documentation, drawing revisions, schedules, and communication workflows
- Assist in preparing estimates, quotations, and construction documentation
- Order materials and coordinate with suppliers for pricing, availability, and deliveries
- Maintain organized digital files for drawings, revisions, estimates, and project documents
- Track project information using Microsoft Excel and Word
- Answer emails and phone calls professionally when required
- Support management and the project team with daily administrative and coordination tasks
- Help ensure project deadlines are met through effective follow-up and communication
Requirements:
- Previous experience in commercial millwork, cabinetry, construction, drafting, or a related field is strongly preferred
- Experience preparing shop drawings is strongly preferred
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Mozaik, Cabinet Vision, Autodesk 360, or similar software
- Ability to read and understand architectural drawings, specifications, and construction details
- Knowledge of construction processes and commercial millwork is highly desirable
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines at the same time
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Professional attitude and willingness to work in a team environment
