Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Level II Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dental assisting, with proficiency in dental software and procedures, to provide exceptional patient care. This role involves supporting dentists during various procedures, managing patient interactions, and ensuring the smooth operation of the clinical environment. Experience with Abeldent technology is highly desirable. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including orthodontics and pediatric treatments
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available
- Manage patient records accurately using dental software such as Abel Dent.
- Take and dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed
- Provide patient education on oral health care and post-treatment instructions
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment in compliance with OSHA standards
- Support front desk duties as a dental receptionist when needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow
- Ensure all patient information is handled with confidentiality and professionalism
Skills
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with certification at Level II or higher
- Proficiency in dental software platforms such as Abel dent
- Knowledge of orthodontic procedures and pediatric dentistry practices
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to dentistry
- Experience with CAD systems for digital impressions or design work is a plus
- Strong understanding of infection control protocols and OSHA regulations
- Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and team collaboration
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Compassionate approach to patient care with attention to detail
