Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Superintendent / Maintenance Person to oversee the day-to-day operations of a well-maintained 100-unit apartment building in Sudbury, Ontario. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, interacting with residents, and taking pride in keeping a property running smoothly.
The successful candidate will work closely with the onsite cleaner and act as the first point of contact for residents, ensuring the building remains safe, clean, and well cared for.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform minor maintenance and repairs (plumbing, electrical, general upkeep)
- Conduct regular building inspections and report maintenance issues
- Show apartments to prospective tenants as units become available
- Act as the primary contact for residents regarding maintenance requests and general inquiries
- Coordinate with property management and meet contractors when required
- Assist with maintaining common areas, building systems, and exterior grounds
- Deliver notices and assist management with property-related tasks as needed
- Work collaboratively with the onsite staff to maintain building standards
Qualifications
- Previous superintendent, maintenance, or building operations experience preferred
- Strong basic repair and troubleshooting skills
- Friendly and professional communication with residents and contractors
- Organized, dependable, and able to work independently
- Ability to respond to occasional after-hours maintenance issues
