Position Summary:
The Barista/Sales Associate will be the “face” of High Notes to all customers. From initial greeting to cashing them out and everything in between, this position is an essential role in ensuring that each customer has a consistent experience in line with the mission and values of High Notes. This position will also be responsible for the cleaning and replenishment of records, creating content for social media, and visual merchandising.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Barista:
· Have fun and unique interactive conversations with all customers
· Establish a relationship with regular customers
· Prepare high quality coffee inline with High Notes’ standard operating procedures
· Operate a cash/credit card/electronic payment terminal
· Ensure Coffee Bar is always clean
· Ensure all food and beverages are prepared in accordance with local health and safety regulations
· Restock behind the bar supplies as needed to avoid any workflow disruption
· Restock pastry case to ensure food items are fully stocked and presentable
· Taking inventory of supplies and ordering new stock as needed
· Execute store opening and closing protocols and ensure all tasks are completed daily
Record Store Merchandising:
· Clean and price used records in line with High Notes standard operating procedures and targets
· Restock, alphabetize, and organize record bins as needed for both new and used vinyl
· “Up-sell” to customers to increase sales
· Backfill records immediately following a sale
· Assist with visual merchandising. For example: front window display
· Execute store opening and closing protocols and ensure all tasks are completed daily
Content Creation:
· Create written, photo and video content for the web and social media
· Increase engagement, followers, and sales

Qualifications and Experience:
· Outstanding customer service skills
· Good written and verbal communication
· An understanding of basic math
· Previous barista experience is an asset
· Previous record store experience is an asset
Working Conditions:
· Flexible scheduling
· Morning shift (including opening)
· Evening shift (including closing)
· Weekend shift
Pay: $18.00-$19.50 per hour
