Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals with diverse needs. This role involves supporting clients in their daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment. Ideal candidates will have experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings, with a strong focus on senior care, working with individuals with disabilities, and dementia care. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Administer medications following prescribed guidelines and ensure proper documentation
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences
- Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and maintaining a safe environment
- Support clients in participating in recreational activities and community outings
- Monitor health status and report any changes or concerns to healthcare professionals or family members
- Follow care plans and document services provided accurately and timely
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and health regulations at all times
Experience
- Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home care is highly preferred
- Experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those with dementia is advantageous
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures is beneficial
- Strong caregiving skills combined with patience, empathy, and excellent communication abilities
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently while maintaining a compassionate approach
- Previous experience in caregiving roles involving meal preparation, cleaning, or home care is a plus
