Job Opportunity: SEAL Technician (Casual/On-Call)
Island AeroBarrier is the leading provider of advanced air-sealing technology across Vancouver Island. We help builders, contractors, and homeowners achieve healthier, quieter, and more energy-efficient spaces through our innovative AeroBarrier and Aeroseal services.
We’re looking for motivated and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as SEAL Technicians on a casual/on-call basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for those who enjoy flexible work, working with cutting-edge technology, and being part of a team that’s changing the way buildings perform.
What You’ll Do
· Island AeroBarrier services all of Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. Travel (company vehicle) is occasionally required and includes overnight stays in shared accommodations when needed.
· Worksites include single-family, multi-family (townhouse, multi-plex), and mid-rise (apartments/condos), as well as commercial and industrial areas.
· Set up, operate, and monitor specialized AeroBarrier and Aeroseal equipment during sealing projects.
· Assist with blower door testing, air-sealing preparation, and cleanup.
· Work closely with lead technicians and project managers to ensure successful project outcomes.
· Maintain a safe and organized work environment on job sites.
· Provide excellent customer service when interacting with builders, contractors, and homeowners.
What We’re Looking For
· Reliability and flexibility — available to work on short notice for casual shifts (you typically get several days’ notice)
· Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise procedures.
· Comfortable working with tools, equipment, and technology.
· Ability to lift and move equipment (up to 50 lbs) and work on active construction sites.
· Safety-conscious and professional in appearance and conduct.
· Previous construction, HVAC, or trades experience is an asset but not required — we’ll provide full training.
· Class 5 license with clean abstract.
· Must live in the Victoria BC region
