The Cape Breton-Victoria Regional Centre for Education is responsible for the administration of the public school system within the boundaries of Cape Breton and Victoria Counties, supporting approximately 12,000 students in 38 schools.

Position: Casual Cafeteria Worker
Available Locations: Riverview High School, Glace Bay High School, Memorial High School, Sydney Academy
Hours: Vary by position. Please note these positions work September to June annually subject to normal school layoff periods and days when students are not present)
Salary: $20.60/hour

Minimum Required Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to be interpersonally responsive to the diverse backgrounds and personalities of students of various ages, and to maintain confidentiality in all issues related to students, families and school
Physically able to perform duties of the position including heavy lifting (may require lifting of up to 50 lbs), walking and standing during most of the day, and working in an environment with heat fluctuations;

The Cafeteria Worker, under the direction of the School Principal and working cooperatively with the Head Cafeteria Worker, is responsible for food preparation and service for the school lunch program and other school food programs as required. Working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, the Cafeteria Worker upholds the values of the School Food and Nutrition Policy and the Inclusive Education policy and is committed to promoting equity, helping create healthy school food environments, and interacting with students in a way that is friendly, positive and maintains trust and confidentiality.
Prepare and serve food for the school lunch program and other school food programs as required
Perform Kitchen Responsibilities
