Property Management Admin
We are looking for a killer HUMAN to help us with our St Albert office. Experience in office administration not required, but knowledge of excel and computers is!
HERE’S WHAT’S IMPORTANT TO KNOW ABOUT US.
We have an unrelenting dedication to customer service.
As Edmonton’s #1 property management company, results for us are crazy important. This means we work in the best interest of our clients and their investment properties i.e. properties are well maintained and rented appropriately. This is a no brainer. However, for us, customer service is rooted in results AND experience. Our clients / tenants / vendors love to work with us not only because we do our job but because working with us is enjoyable.
We are swamped.
Fast paced environment blah blah blah. Everyone says that. Companies typically hire more people because they are busy (right??!!??). But being busy is not the only reason why we are swamped. For us, it’s not about just getting stuff done, it’s about getting it done NOW. We find great renters for our clients FAST when their property is vacant. Emergencies happen like flooding, no heat etc. These are serious – we need to respond and address tenant concerns AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. The standard response time in our industry SUCKS. Our ongoing mission is to raise that bar. The ability to multitask and prioritize is like breathing to us – it is not optional.
We brag about working at Tilt. The truth is we are rad....
We are proud to work here, enjoy what we do, and genuinely like each other. We couldn’t do what we do if we weren’t a team who cared about each other, loved to have fun, and were ALWAYS willing to roll up our sleeves to do whatever we need to do to get things done.
You’ve read this far…. are you excited? Do you think you’ve finally found your peeps? If so, keep reading.
THIS ROLE = UTILITY PLAYER
This is not a sit-in-one-lane kind of job.
Yes—there are core admin responsibilities. But we’re really looking for someone who can jump in anywhere and figure things out.
One minute you might be:
- Supporting a leasing agent
- Booking showings
- Processing applications
The next minute you might be:
- Solving a tenant issue
- Helping a client navigate a situation
- Fixing something that’s broken in a process
- Taking on a random project that just needs to get done
We want someone who sees something and says: “I’ll handle it.” Not: “That’s not my job.”
YOUR WORK DAY
We could walk you through a huge task list but that would be boring, however, this position is anything but boring. So, let’s look at it in terms of responsibilities.
1) Communications.
The property management industry is terrible at communications. That’s why we love to be great at it. Whether you are communicating over the phone, email, or sign language, you need to be clear, instill confidence in people and genuinely listen. FYI, we don’t actually communicate by sign language but you get the point. Communications is everything to us. You are typically the first point of contact for general client and tenant inquiries which makes it one of the moost important. We’re looking for someone who prides themselves on creating a great experience.
2) Anal About Great Office Admin
We rely heavily n having access to accurate information. We are looking for someone who understands the importance of this and is diligent about filing, recording and saving information.
3) Problem Solving
This isn’t a cookie cutter job where you just go through the motions. We’re also not saying it’s rocket science but you do have to be a strong logical thinker. You will be dealing with all kinds of client and tenant requests – and they rarely are the exact same. You’ll have to be able to gather all the relevant info, apply what you know, tap people on the shoulder with questions when appropriate and figure it out.
4) Team Admin Support
You will be providing Admin support to the rest of the team. We believe in working as a well oiled machine, you will be an integral part of this.
5) Being Nice. Our culture and working environment are fundamental to our business. We really don’t want to work with a jerk. Fun, smart, hardworking people are our jam.
6) Getting Dirty. You roll up your sleeves to do what needs to be done. We work together to be the best property management firm in the business and we need you to do the same.
7) “Too Busy” is not part of your vernacular. Our plates are full. We are looking for someone who thrives and gets lit up when the pressure is on and workload is high. We hate it when people constantly say they are “busy” as a matter of habit. We want people who say “my day is awesome – I’m soooooo busy”!
Still looking for a list of tasks…..ok, here it is in a nutshell…
· Assisting Leasing Manager
· Admin support to other staff
· Client and tenant support
· Booking showings/processing applications
· Answering emails/phone calls
·other office admin tasks
· Bring ENERGY EVERY DAY To the office!
ADVANTAGES
We don’t sell a product, we sell service which means our people are our most important asset!
What does that mean for you?
- Competitive wages,
- Flexibility,
- Dynamic and engaging work;
- And most importantly a workplace that will make your friends and online followers green with envy.
STILL SOUND LIKE A FIT? YOU’RE HIRED (WELL ALMOST) NOW YOU HAVE TO PROVE IT
Send us your resume outlining your experience, technical and personal skills. But also let us know why we’re a match made in heaven. Why do you want to work with us and why would you be a great addition to our team?
ONE LAST THING (THIS MATTERS)
We don’t care about traditional cover letters.
They’re usually boring and tell us nothing.
Instead, we want to see you.
When you apply, include a short note (couple paragraphs max) answering this:
1) Why do you actually want this job? (No fluff. Be real.)
2) Tell us about a time you handled chaos, pressure, or a ton of tasks at once. What did you do?
3) What makes you someone we’d WANT to work with every day?
Bonus points if it makes us laugh or makes us think—but mostly we’re looking for effort and honesty.
No note = no reply. If you skip this, we’ll assume you’re not that interested in joining our team—and we’re looking for people who are fired up to be here.
We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those deemed qualified for this position will be called for interviews regarding this opportunity. If your skills do not match the qualifications of this position, your resume will be considered for other opportunities within your field..
