Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver - Class 1 to join our transportation team. This role involves safely operating heavy-duty trucks to transport freight across various routes in Edmonton city, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the highest safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, a solid understanding of commercial vehicle operation, and the ability to handle heavy equipment when necessary. Duties
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks for local deliveries
- Load and unload freight using pallet jack as needed
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during transit
- Assist with the securement of freight to prevent damage during transport
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and warehouse personnel regarding delivery schedules and issues
Qualifications
- Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license (CDL) with clean driving record
- 1 year Experience in freight transportation and commercial driving in the city required
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards in transportation
- Excellent navigation skills with the ability to plan efficient routes
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads, including freight and equipment, as needed
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude toward customer service and teamwork
Pay: From $23.00 per hour
