Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled 3rd Year Apprentice Electrician to join our team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals progressing through their electrical apprenticeship to gain hands-on experience in residential and commercial environments. The ideal candidate will assist in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, ensuring safety and compliance with industry standards. This position is essential for supporting our ongoing projects and developing advanced electrical skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist licensed electricians in installing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems in industrial and construction settings
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to guide installation and maintenance tasks
- Use hand tools, power tools, and low voltage testing equipment safely and effectively
- Perform basic wiring, conduit bending, and cable pulling under supervision
- Support the setup of electrical components according to project specifications
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety
- Follow all safety protocols and adhere to OSHA regulations during daily operations
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or completing the third year of an electrical apprenticeship program
- Previous experience with residential and commercial electrician work or construction is preferred
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, schematics, blueprint reading, and low voltage systems
- Strong understanding of electrical safety practices and CEC
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Reliable transportation to job sites (truck would be helpful); valid driver’s license is a must
- Must have own hand tools and power tools
- Must be willing to travel outside of Winnipeg, multiple jobs north of Winnipeg
