Overview
AEGIS Law is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Immigration Lawyer to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of immigration law, excellent research and writing skills, and experience with legal drafting. This role offers an opportunity to assist clients navigating complex immigration processes, ensuring compliance with legal standards, and providing strategic counsel. The Immigration Lawyer will play a vital role in managing cases from start to finish, advocating for clients’ rights, and contributing to the firm’s reputation for excellence in immigration law.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and counsel to clients on various immigration matters, including visas, green cards, asylum, and deportation defense
- Manage assigned immigration files from initial assessment through completion.
- Prepare, review, and submit immigration applications, supporting documents, legal submissions, and correspondence.
- Advise clients regarding eligibility, application requirements, procedural risks, and available immigration options.
- Communicate with clients, government authorities, and other parties as required.
- Conduct legal research and remain current with Canadian immigration legislation, policies, procedures, and program requirements.
- Maintain complete, accurate, and organized client files.
- Meet all applicable professional, ethical, confidentiality, and service standards.
- Provide regular file updates to AEGIS Law and coordinate with the firm’s legal and administrative teams.
Requirements
- Licensed by the Law Society of Ontario and in good standing.
- Proven experience in Canadian immigration law is required.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage immigration files.
- Strong negotiation skills to advocate effectively on behalf of clients.
- Excellent research abilities to interpret complex legal statutes and policies.
- Superior writing skills for drafting clear, precise legal documents and correspondence.
- Ability to analyze case details critically and develop strategic solutions.
- Exceptional communication skills for client interaction and courtroom proceedings.
- Commitment to ethical standards and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet filing deadlines.
Pay: $150.00-$250.00 per hour

- Immigration law: 3 years (required)
Licence/Certification:
- Licensed by the Law Society of Ontario (required)
