Logistics Coordinator

SureSource Commodities is looking for an energetic professional who doesn’t mind wearing multiple hats. Experienced in handling a wide range of transportation related tasks as well as the ability to work independently with little or no supervision. Well organized, flexible and enjoys the challenges of domestic and international transportation.
- Receive overseas shipment documents, review, approve and processes documents for payment.
- Supported high-volume container shipping operations with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
- Proactively source new carriers, develop relationships and negotiate rates helping to expand logistics portfolio
- Coordinate logistics activities across ocean, trucking and transportation modes.
- Schedule and track inbound and outbound shipments. Through our software, generate appropriate documentation for the loads
- Customs entries through customs providers
- Deal with rejections
- Track shipments and communicate any changes to carriers, internal team and customers
- Manage successful execution of freight such as customs entry, drayage, transloading, trucking and rail
- Prioritize and manage multiple shipments by different means of transportation
- Develop and implement office policies by setting up standard operating procedures pertaining to logistics and all its functions
- Openly communicate with management
- Understanding the sense of urgency with individual tasks
- Adhere to regulatory requirements and company policies
- Oversee contract volumes and shipment periods to ensure suppliers and customers are meeting obligations
Desired Skills and Experience
- Diploma or degree
- 3-5 years of experience in international shipping, import/export coordination, carrier communication, and freight pricing support.
- Customer service driven, open communicator, high execution rate, high sense of urgency
- Outstanding organization, problem solving and attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
- Strong problem identification and resolution skills
- Ability to work individually and in a team
- Competent in MS Excel and Word. Quick to catch on to new software
- Experience in a fast-paced work environment
- Takes initiative and requires little to no guidance completing necessary tasks
- Time management

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $58,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
