Join the Caledonian Landscape Gardening Team
Caledonian Landscape Gardening is expanding, and we’re looking for an experienced Landscape Gardener to join our growing team. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional landscaping and horticultural services across the Halifax Regional Municipality, with a strong reputation for quality workmanship and outstanding customer service.
Responsibilities
- Garden planting, maintenance and renovation
- Plant identification, selection and care
- Identify common weeds and apply appropriate control methods
- Pruning and shaping of trees, shrubs and hedges using correct horticultural techniques
- Lawn care including mowing, trimming, fertilizing and lime application
- Soil preparation, amendments and mulching
- Patio, pathway and landscape construction
- Pond and water feature installation and maintenance
- Sod installation and general landscape improvements
- Seasonal clean-ups and property maintenance
- Supervise and support crew members when required while maintaining high quality standards
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ landscaping or horticultural experience
- Strong knowledge of plant identification, plant care and common weed species
- Excellent understanding of correct pruning techniques for a wide range of trees and shrubs
- Ability to work independently, manage your workload and supervise others when required
- Experience operating landscaping equipment, power tools and trailers
- Valid driver’s licence preferred
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Reliable, punctual and professional with excellent attention to detail
- Commitment to safe work practices and maintaining clean vehicles, trailers, equipment and job sites
- Physically fit and able to repeatedly lift 50 lb while working outdoors in all weather conditions

Pay: $26.00-$30.00 per hour
Education:
- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)
Experience:
- Gardening/landscaping: 2 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Driving Licence (preferred)
