In this role you will be working closely with our aquatic and customer service teams, contractors, and clients to create a safe and engaging experience for all.
This is a hands-on leadership position that blends both management and supervisory responsibilities. You will not only lead operations from the deck but also be actively involved in the pool, supporting programs and coaching staff in real time. You’ll be at the forefront of overseeing swim programs, mentoring staff, facility maintenance, ensuring client and staff satisfaction, smooth daily operations, and promoting our services in the community.
This role combines management, sales, and customer service responsibilities to help us make a splash in the world.

Financial and Administrative:
Accurately enter payroll hours into our pay system and update as shift times change
Monitor the facility’s budget and payroll activity
Evaluate staffing levels and shift capacity, making shift cuts and staffing adjustments as needed to adhere to budget and facility needs
Manage the scheduling of classes, instructors, and supervisors to ensure proper coverage
Maintain accurate records of class enrollments, attendance, and progress
Lead preparation and execution of team events, special programs, and training
Ensure staff qualifications are up-to-date and current
Help monitor session stats like retention, fill rates, and customer satisfaction
Track, monitor, order, and replenish inventory levels of all necessary supplies (pool, safety, cleaning, office)
Prepare reports for management on operational performance, safety incidents, and program outcomes
Customer Engagement:
Be present and approachable on deck and support customer service needs
Foster positive relationships with swimmers and parents to create a welcoming and supportive atmosphere
Promptly and professionally address inquiries, feedback, concerns, and complaints
Help families feel confident about their swim journey through facility tours, assessments, program recommendations, registrations, swim levels
Monitor feedback and reviews to continuously improve the experience
Program and Session Management:
Quality control throughout the lessons and ensure that the Splash N’ Learn program is being taught and adhered to, as well as the high level of instruction is maintained
Build and update facility schedules to maximize pool time and class availability
Assign instructors to classes, support smooth deck setup/takedown, and ensure session readiness
Supervise and support swimming lessons to ensure quality and consistency of instructors and programs
Review lesson plans and swimmer progress evaluations on an ongoing basis
Ensure accurate and timely completion of student skill trees
Support teaching and instructional leadership on deck or in-water, including leading or assisting with class demos, daytime teaching, and specific enrollment parameters
Organize and deliver regular training sessions for staff members to enhance their skills, knowledge and certifications
Manage all staff schedules and proactively solve any scheduling challenges
Manage adherence to Lifesaving Society standards in leadership course, and schedule all leadership courses
Safety & Risk Management:
Ensure the safety of all facility users by enforcing established safety protocols, emergency procedures, and lifeguarding standards
Conduct regular safety drills, inspections, and audits to maintain compliance with safety regulations
Keep the daily log complete and accurate
Set up and remove bins, lane ropes, and equipment, checking for safety and proper repair of lifesaving equipment during each shift
Report malfunctioning equipment immediately and remove unsafe items from use
Team Leadership and Management:
Lead, mentor, and train a team of Aquatic Supervisors, Head Instructors, Instructors, SCT, and trainees
Foster a positive, respectful, and supportive team culture by being the go-to person, offering guidance, mentorship, and ongoing training
Create space for feedback and growth by conducting and tracking ongoing performance evaluations and performance improvement plans
Recognize and celebrate achievements and milestones with the team to boost morale and motivation
Anticipate hiring needs and support recruitment, onboarding, and training of staff
Ensure smooth team processes like payroll submissions, onboarding, and offboarding
Communicate openly and regularly with the team through staff meetings and sharing updates
Facility Operations:
Keep the facility clean, safe, and functional from pool equipment and maintenance to overall facility decorations
Ensure safety protocols meet pool/health regulations and equipment is stocked, maintained, and up to standard
Oversee daily maintenance tasks, safety equipment checks, and facility inspections and coordinate with external vendors for repairs, pest control, and mechanical needs
Carry out pool vacuuming, backwashing, and fouling clean-up as required
Conduct pool chemistry tests and maintain proper chemical balance
Ensure proper record keeping of all logbooks, cleaning checklists, and supply orders
Be accountable for managing emergencies by ensuring the emergency response plan is aligned with industry best practices, conducting safety checks and drills, and staying up to date on certifications, regulations, and best practices in aquatic safety
