Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our food manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of food processing and packaging equipment to ensure smooth production operations and food safety compliance.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on food processing and packaging equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimize production downtime
- Inspect machinery and identify potential issues before failures occur
- Maintain maintenance logs and repair records
- Work closely with production and quality assurance teams
- Ensure all maintenance work follows workplace safety and food safety requirements
- Assist with equipment installation and production line improvements when needed
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience in a food manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, conveyors, motors, pumps, and packaging equipment
- Basic electrical troubleshooting experience is preferred
- Ability to read technical manuals and maintenance documentation
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
- Availability for overtime or weekend work when required
Preferred Qualifications
- Millwright, Industrial Mechanic, or related technical training is an asset
- Experience with frozen food processing equipment is an asset
- Forklift certification is an asset
