Position Type: Part-Time, Contract ending in December 2026
Hours of Work: 28 hours per week, In-Person Position.
Compensation: $19.96 - $24.95 Hourly

Position Summary:
The Assisted Living Services Assistant (ALS Assistant) is responsible for supporting the provision of Assisted Living Services to older adult clients at the Senior Persons Living Connected site and the Wishing Well Manor site (Toronto Community Housing). The Assistant provides general administrative support and schedules of Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to ensure services are provided in a safe and efficient manner.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule Personal Support Workers on a weekly basis for personal care (PC), medication reminders, homemaking, safety reassurance service, and assist in ensuring client service and safety needs are met
- Assists in orienting staff, providing training, monitoring attendance, and providing field support
- Provide information about health and safety, known job hazards and proper protective equipment to workers
- Assist in ensuring implementation of emergency response at the SPLC site
- Assist in providing on-call in evening and night time to sustain 24/7 support to client / caregiver
- Contact client for scheduling change and service discussion
- Provide administrative back-up support during absence, and ensuring service is provided in a safe and timely manner
- Participate in planning and follow-up sessions for establishing long- and short-term goals
- Perform work safely according to departmental and organizational procedures and policies and ensure the safety of self and others
- Any other reasonable duties that may be assigned from time to time
Education:
- High School diploma or Certificate from a recognized college related to social services or healthcare or gerontology.
Skills & Experience:
- Must speak Cantonese or Mandarin fluently.
- Two to Three (2-3) years’ experience working with seniors in a community setting
- Experience working with frail or cognitively impaired seniors
- Experience scheduling staff an asset
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, decision-making and assessment skills and ability to handle crisis
- Ability to work independently and co-operatively in a busy inter-professional team
- Excellent computer knowledge and skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office especially excel
Working Conditions:
- Required to work at different sites
- Frequently having to schedule and re-schedule staff in short periods of time
- Frequent phone calls and interruptions
- May be exposed to contagious diseases
