Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions in mathematics, covering topics from basic arithmetic to advanced algebra and calculus.
- Assess students’ current understanding and tailor lessons to meet individual learning styles and needs.
- Develop engaging lesson plans and educational materials that promote active learning and comprehension.
- Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Support students with homework, test preparation, and understanding complex concepts in math and related subjects such as computer science or classroom-based lessons.
- Foster a positive, encouraging environment that boosts student confidence and motivation.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, or school staff to ensure consistent support for student learning goals.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and areas for improvement.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or students in an educational setting is preferred.
- Strong background in mathematics, including knowledge of current curricula and teaching methods.
- Prior tutoring or teaching experience is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques and educational technology tools such as computers or interactive software.
- Knowledge of special education strategies to support diverse learning needs is a plus.
- Background in computer science or related fields can be beneficial for tutoring related subjects.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and patiently.
