A leading manufacturing organization is seeking a Procurement Specialist / Buyer to join its Supply Chain team. This position is responsible for sourcing production materials, managing supplier relationships, negotiating pricing, and ensuring inventory levels support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
Procure raw materials, MRO supplies, equipment parts, and operational consumables for multiple manufacturing sites
Monitor inventory levels and generate inventory reports to help maintain continuous production flow
Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers while securing competitive pricing and favorable terms
Coordinate and track incoming shipments to ensure materials arrive according to production schedules
Confirm receipt of purchased items, investigate discrepancies, and resolve receiving issues
Address supplier invoicing concerns, pricing discrepancies, and non-conforming materials
Work closely with the Accounting team to reconcile invoice and purchase order variances
Support sourcing initiatives through RFQs, RFPs, and supplier bid evaluations
Gather pricing information and supplier quotations to support capital equipment purchases
Arrange and coordinate external maintenance and service providers as required
Negotiate supplier agreements, pricing structures, and commercial terms
Coordinate equipment and machinery rental requirements
Oversee the full purchase order lifecycle, including creation, issuance, monitoring, and closure
Build and maintain strong working relationships with vendors, contractors, and service partners
Ensure compliance with company policies, including health and safety standards and confidentiality requirements
Contribute to additional procurement and supply chain projects as assigned
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Economics, or a related field
Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory management, logistics, or supplier management within a manufacturing, industrial, or construction environment
Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
Exposure to strategic sourcing and vendor performance management
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Strong communication, negotiation, organizational, and time-management skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
