We are currently seeking an experienced AZ Float Driver / Material Hauler to support our operations by transporting heavy construction equipment and hauling aggregates and construction materials to job sites across the region.

Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport heavy construction equipment using float and lowboy trailers.
- Haul aggregates, granular materials, asphalt, topsoil, pipe, and other construction materials using dump trailers.
- Deliver equipment and materials to multiple job sites throughout Eastern Ontario.
- Load, unload, and properly secure heavy construction equipment.
- Conduct daily pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections.
- Complete electronic driver logs, vehicle inspection reports, and all required transportation documentation.
- Ensure compliance with Ministry of Transportation (MTO) regulations, Hours of Service requirements, and company safety policies.
- Coordinate deliveries with project managers, foremen, dispatch, suppliers, and pit operators.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional truck and trailer.
- Report maintenance concerns promptly.
- Represent Gordon Barr Ltd. professionally with customers, suppliers, inspectors, and the public.
- Maintain a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality workmanship.
Qualifications
- Valid Ontario AZ Driver's Licence with a clean driver's abstract.
- Minimum 3 years of commercial AZ driving experience, preferably in heavy civil construction.
- Experience operating:
- Float/lowboy trailers transporting heavy construction equipment.
- Dump trailers hauling aggregates and construction materials.
- Strong knowledge of Electronic Logging Device (ELD) regulations, Ontario Hours of Service compliance, and experience using electronic log systems.
- Thorough understanding of Ministry of Transportation (MTO) regulations, CVOR requirements, and National Safety Code standards.
- Knowledge of proper load securement, oversized load regulations, and permit requirements.
- Ability to accurately complete electronic logs, vehicle inspections, and transportation documentation.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong commitment to safe work practices and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work overtime, early mornings, and occasional weekends during peak construction season.
- Experience operating heavy construction equipment is considered an asset.
