CSI Corrosion Protection is seeking an Estimator to be responsible for preparing cost estimates and writing proposals for a wide variety of coating needs.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare cost estimates for coatings of steel, pipe, vessels, and a variety of other products under guidance of the CSI Manager.
- Calculating complete quantity take-off of all scopes of work ready for pricing.
- Review of fabrication drawings and 3-D models.
- Prepare Technical and Commercial Proposal Documents either independently or with consultation of other personnel.
- Work with shop staff to discuss application issues and assist in resolving problems.
- Monitor the performance of and continually improve and update estimating tools.
- Actively participate in the development of new estimating tools and procedures.
- Complete bid pre-qualifications as assigned.
- Lead and participate in Proposal and Estimate Review Meetings.
- Review customer specifications and applicable codes.
- Determine the type of materials needed and any special requirements.
- Liaise and obtain quotes for material and sub-vendor requirements in terms of pricing and delivery.
- Calculate labour hours for individual components
- Determine final estimate figure and/or work for bid development and completion.
- Update pricing in spreadsheets that are regularly used as an estimating tool.
- Follow CSI established estimating standards and procedures.
- Assist with monitoring shop and office performance to verify estimating methods.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience estimating within the industry.
- Junior candidates may be considered depending upon the individual's attributes.
- Knowledge of NACE codes.
- Ability to compile estimates both manually and using estimating software applications.
- Proficient knowledge of industry best practices.
- Proven ability to produce high quality work while facing competing priorities and strict deadlines.
- Ability to prioritize activities, adapt to change, and stay focused in a dynamic environment.
- Proficient in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, Teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to interact positively with all levels of staff.
- Demonstrate sensitivity and discretion when working with confidential information.
