Line Cook (Full-time & Part-time)
Chez Wa is a modern Chinese wine bar in Toronto's Little Italy, serving thoughtful Chinese-inspired bar food alongside a curated selection of wine and sake.
We're a small, collaborative team working in a compact kitchen that uses induction cooking instead of open-fire stoves, focused on creativity, consistency, and hospitality. If you enjoy working with quality ingredients, care about the little details, and want to grow with an independent restaurant, we'd love to meet you.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and cook menu items with consistency and attention to detail
- Assist with daily prep and ensure ingredients are properly stored and organized
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation throughout service
- Follow food safety and sanitation standards at all times
- Work closely with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to deliver smooth service
- Help receive deliveries, organize inventory, and restock supplies
- Assist with daily opening and closing duties
- Contribute ideas and continuously improve kitchen operations
We're Looking For Someone Who
- Has at least 3 years of experience as a line cook in a restaurant, wine bar, or hospitality environment
- Has solid knife skills; experience filleting fish is a strong asset
- Works cleanly, efficiently, and stays calm during busy service
- Pays close attention to detail and takes pride in consistency
- Communicates well and enjoys working in a small team
- Is available to work evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays
- Is eager to learn and passionate about food
