Overview
Hofmann Construction Ltd. is a family-run residential construction company based in North Saanich. We work on custom homes, renovations, additions, and energy-efficient renovation projects throughout Greater Victoria, Oak Bay, and the Saanich Peninsula.
We are looking for a reliable and motivated Apprentice Carpenter to join our small team. This is a full-time position for someone who wants to learn the trade properly, gain hands-on experience, and build a long-term career in residential construction.
As a small company, we handle much of our work in-house, which means you will have the opportunity to learn many different parts of the building process, from foundations and framing through to window and door installation, exterior work, renovations, and interior finishing.
We work closely with our clients and are often working directly in their homes, so attitude, respect, reliability, and professionalism matter just as much as skill.
Duties
- Assist with residential construction tasks on renovation, addition, and custom home projects
- Support experienced carpenters with framing, foundations, exterior work, window and door installation, and interior finishing
- Help with site preparation, material handling, cleanup, and daily organization
- Assist with measuring, cutting, fastening, and assembling building materials
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and responsibly
- Follow direction from lead carpenters and be willing to learn proper building methods
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and respectful job site
- Work professionally in and around clients’ homes
- Follow safety procedures and company expectations
- Show up on time, communicate well, and work as part of a team
Requirements
- Apprentice carpenter or someone wanting to pursue a carpentry apprenticeship
- Some construction or carpentry experience is an asset, but not required for the right person
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Reliable, respectful, and professional attitude
- Ability to work efficiently and take direction
- Attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Comfortable working outdoors and on active construction sites
- Physically able to lift materials and perform hands-on construction work
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation required
- Basic hand tools are an asset

Job Details
