Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Building Maintenance Technician to ensure the optimal operation and safety of multiple buildings in the downtown core. This role involves performing routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting complex systems, and leading maintenance projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills, be an organized multi-tasker and work well under pressure. The technician will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, efficient, and well-functioning environment for all tenants and visitors.
Duties
- Conduct regular inspections of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Perform maintenance work on all buildings and grounds, including but not limited to painting, snow removal, weeding, spackling, and other minor repairs.
- Operate and manage work orders, inventory control, and maintenance scheduling.
- Lead maintenance projects and coordinate with external contractors when necessary.
- Clean, tidy and maintain common areas.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and facility regulations to promote a safe working environment.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing facility concerns promptly and professionally.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience
- Proven experience in maintaining commercial property environments.
- Routine electrical system and equipment maintenance.
- Routine mechanical maintenance including troubleshooting pumps, motors and boilers.
- Routine plumbing system and equipment maintenance.
- Commercial property cleaning maintenance including usage of pressure washer.
- Excellent communication skills in English to coordinate effectively with team members and management.

- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly.

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
