Auscan Medical is seeking a dual-registered Registered Nurse (RN) to support an active mining project in the Yukon. This is a casual, on-demand position designed to provide critical medical coverage and occupational health support on an as-needed basis.
If you are a flexible, independent practitioner who thrives in remote environments and loves the adventure of industrial site medicine, this is the perfect opportunity to pick up rewarding shifts that fit your schedule.
What You’ll Do
- Primary & Emergency Care: Provide high-quality emergency response, assessment, and stabilization for acute injuries or illnesses on-site.
- Occupational Health: Conduct pre-employment or routine screening, fit-for-duty assessments, and support site health and safety protocols.
- Case Management: Manage work-related injury claims, return-to-work coordination, and clear communication with site management.
- Clinic Operations: Maintain precise medical records, manage inventory, and ensure the site clinic meets all regulatory health standards.
What You Bring (Requirements)
- Licensure: Valid, practicing registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) IS REQUIRED. (Dual registration/eligible for licensing with the Yukon Registered Nurses Association is a strong asset).
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in Emergency, ICU, Urgent Care, or Remote Industrial/Occupational Health.
- Certifications: Current BLS/ACLS. ITLS or PHTLS certifications are highly preferred.
- Mindset: Strong critical thinking skills, comfortable operating autonomously in a remote setting, and excellent teamwork capabilities.
Work Conditions & Schedule
- Casual Nature: Work is available on an as-needed, project-by-project basis. Ideal for nurses looking to supplement their primary income.
- Travel: Flights, comfortable on-site camp accommodation, and meals are fully provided during your rotation.
