Scarborough dental office is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented HARP certified Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support dentists and hygienists in providing exceptional patient care, ensuring smooth daily operations, and maintaining a welcoming environment. Experience with dental software such as Epic and Dentrix, as well as familiarity with orthodontics, pediatrics, and medical terminology, will be highly valued. Duties
- Assist dentists during various procedures, including orthodontic treatments and pediatric dentistry
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available
- Take and develop dental radiographs using CAD technology when required
- Manage patient records accurately using dental software such as Epic and Dentrix
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care
- Support front desk staff with dental receptionist duties, including scheduling appointments and verifying insurance information
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards
- Ensure a clean, organized, and efficient clinical environment at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience in dental assisting, with knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
- Familiarity with dental software platforms such as Epic and Dentrix
- Experience working with orthodontics, pediatrics, or in a medical setting is a plus
- Knowledge of CAD imaging technology is advantageous
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Certification or training in dental assisting preferred but not mandatory; relevant coursework or internships will be considered
- Professional attitude with a commitment to providing excellent patient care
- Tamil speaking is an asset
