Job Title: Arborist / Grounds Person
Job Summary:
The Arborist/Grounds Person provides essential support to tree care crews by assisting with safe and efficient ground-level operations. This includes equipment operation, rigging, debris handling, and maintaining a safe work environment. The role also serves as an entry point into advanced arboriculture training and certifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with site setup, traffic control, and jobsite safety.
- Operate chainsaws, wood chippers, stump grinders, and other arborist equipment.
- Handle ropes and rigging systems to assist climbing arborists.
- Safely lower branches, limbs, and wood.
- Load brush, logs, and debris into trucks and trailers.
- Perform daily maintenance and inspections of tools, trucks, and equipment.
- Follow all company and industry safety protocols (PPE, signage, communication).
- Provide direct support to climbing arborists during tree pruning and removals.
- Ensure the worksite is left clean and hazard-free after completion.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in landscaping, tree care, or related outdoor work (preferred).
- Familiarity with chainsaw use, rigging, and chipper operation (training provided if needed).
- Physically able to lift 50+ lbs and work in all weather conditions.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license (Class 5 required; Class 3/DZ an asset).
Opportunities for Growth:
Training toward ISA Certified Arborist designation.
- Advancement into Climbing Arborist, Crew Leader, or Equipment Operator roles.

Pay: $20.00-$40.00 per hour
