This full-time position offers hands-on experience working alongside me (over 30 years of experience) to strengthen your skills in vehicle maintenance and repair. You will be actively involved in diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and learning the fundamentals of automotive systems. This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to grow their mechanical knowledge with a seasoned automotive mechanic.
This role will also support the operation of a rental vehicle business (U-Haul).

Mechanic Duties
- Assist with routine vehicle inspections, maintenance, and repairs on light vehicles and small engines under supervision
- Read and interpret schematics, repair manuals, and technical diagrams to diagnose issues
- Diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle issues using appropriate tools and equipment
- Support the assembly and disassembly of vehicle systems as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols
- Performing related duties as assigned to meet ongoing needs
U-Haul Duties
- Check point of sales on the web application for truck and van rental bookings
- Conduct registration and rental process for customers using the online application, including return of the vehicles
- Check and report damage, cleanliness, and gas level of rental vehicles
Qualifications
- Proficient in various automotive repair tasks, including engine diagnostics, brake repairs, and electrical system troubleshooting (at least 2 years of experience)
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, welding, and schematics
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environment
- Technical training or certifications related to automotive mechanics are a bonus
Salary
- Minimum wage or higher, depending on years of experience
The first 3 weeks will consist of initial training, which will also serve as the probationary period.
